I understand that about forty of us are feeling uncomfortable about attending the Pixar Holiday Waltz because they don't have a date or because they feel that it is a "hoity-toity*" activity that doesn't reflect "who we are."

I suspect that few of us are in the waltz circuit, and also don't frequently attend such formal events (my last waltz was ten years ago). That's precisely why this promises to be so much fun—it's an opportunity to see ourselves and our colleagues in strange costumes (tuxedos) doing completely foreign activities (waltzing). This may be the last chance in your lifetime to see your favorite TD in a tuxedo attempting to dance.

As to being single, let me just say that in a waltz it is considered proper and flattering to cut in on a lovely lady or elegant gentleman. You can also enjoy the food, music, friends and ambience. I do hope those of you who aren't planning to attend will reconsider joining your friends and colleagues at our Pixar Holiday Waltz. We will miss you if you don't come. What do you have to lose? You might love it.
